Each of these cakes are examples of designs that can be picked up and assembled by a family member or friend.
The cakes are fully chilled before pickup. Icing gets hard, like butter does, in the refrigerator. When it warms up to room temperature the icing is soft and buttery with no 'crust'. Your cake will be designed to travel well and assemble with ease. Setting up a cake is simply a matter of placing one cake upon another, or upon a pedestal. The cakes are fully supported by the pillars or dowels and completely level.

Cakes travel best when placed on thick towels, unboxed. In my experience the fastest way to smoosh a cake is putting it into or taking it out of a box! The thick towels prevent movement and make handling the cakes easier.

The savings from picking up your own cake lower the price of regular flavors to $2.40 or less per serving! You will save over $150 on a cake that serves 200 guests and the more cake you need, the more you save. Your savings will be even larger if you have chosen a reception site that is not in the immediate Lansing area.
There are a variety of styles that qualify for this great discount and the sizes range from 70 to 250 servings. Cutting instructions will also be included if you wish. To transport your cake you will need a vehicle with a large, flat area, preferably a minivan or sports utility vehicle (air conditioned if it's a warm weather wedding.) The cake will be decorated so that there is no danger of anything "falling off". The Cakery will even provide you with a 'Caution! Wedding Cake on Board!' sign to let other drivers know about your special cargo.
